Description
The MQ-6 Gas Sensor Module is ideal for detecting LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), propane, and butane gas leaks in home and industrial applications. It offers high sensitivity, quick response, and simple interfacing with microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.
Key Features:
- Detectable Gases: LPG, butane, propane, methane, alcohol, and hydrogen
- Operating Voltage: 5V DC
- Load Resistance: Adjustable via onboard potentiometer
- Signal Output: Both analog and digital output
- Response Time: ≤ 10 seconds
- Preheat Time: 20 seconds
- Sensitivity Range: 300 to 10,000 ppm (parts per million)
- Long life and low cost
- Compact PCB design with mounting holes
Applications:
- Gas leak detection systems
- Home safety and automation
- Industrial safety systems
- Portable gas detectors
- Fire detection systems
How It Works:
The MQ-6 sensor uses a tin dioxide (SnO₂) sensing element that changes resistance based on gas concentration. The module’s analog output gives proportional gas levels, while the digital output can trigger alarms or cutoffs.
What’s Included:
- 1 x MQ-6 Gas Sensor Module
